As you wish Aqeel Raza!,,it is sticky now :) Don't forget to contribute your help in this thread :)

LNB stands for low noise block
the lower the number the better the lnb i,e a 0.3db is better than a 0.9db
the more noise you can block the better the signal strength on your set top box.
Noise is measured in db (decibal)

1. How does it work?
A number of satellites have been launched into orbit around the earth. They sit in a circle above the equator at a distance of 36,000km. This position allows them to remain in the same relative position in the sky.
To a viewer on Earth, they do not appear to move.
Each satellite has the ability to receive signals transmitted from Earth and to re-transmit them back to Earth over a wide area. The satellite on-board equipment which does this is called a Transponder. A satellite can have several transponders - typically 16. On the ground, large transmitting dishes are used to "uplink" the programmes to each satellite. Each transponder of each satellite beams the programme back down so that it reaches an area designated the "footprint". This is the area where the signal is strongest. The signal becomes weaker towards the edges of the footprint.
To receive a signal you need a dish. This acts as a curved mirror and focusses (concentrates) the weak signal at a point in front of the dish where an "LNB" sits.

2. What is an LNB?
"LNB" stands for Low Noise Block-downconverter. This LNB often has a horn which collects the focussed signal and feeds it to a tiny aerial inside the LNB. The job of the LNB is to convert the weak microwave signal into a stronger signal at a lower frequency. This lower frequency signal can then be fed down a coaxial cable to the satellite receiver.

3. What is a satellite receiver?
The satellite receiver is able to separate the mess of signal coming from the LNB into several recognisable TV picture channels and soundtrack channels. Normally you will be able to "tune" the receiver so that you get your desired programmes at particular channel numbers.

4. What is a decoder?
Many of the programmes are scrambled before they are uplinked to the satellite. In order to descramble them you need a decoder. The usual type of UK decoder is called "Videocrypt" which is licensed by Thomson plc. This type of decoder is usually built inside a receiver. For most scrambled channels you will also need a Smartcard to allow the decoder to work. Smartcards are generally available by subscription in specific countries. This is because the programme providers are licensed to broadcast programmes only to certain countries for which they pay a fee. Apart from "Videocrypt" the next most common type of decoder is called a "D2MAC" transcoder. This is not really a decoder but simply a means of translating a different transmission standard. (Most European broadcasts transmit using the "PAL" system, but D2MAC, DMAC, SECAM are also used. In the USA "NTSC" is used.) Inside most DMAC/D2MAC transcoders is a "Eurocrypt" decoder as well. This works very much like "Videocrypt" and has its own Smartcards.

If your receiver does not have a suitable internal decoder you will usually be able to connect one externally. You should consider this point BEFORE you buy because some combinations of receiver and decoder will not work. Always get the whole bunch of equipment demonstrated before you buy and make sure that the connecting leads used to demonstrate are the ones you take home (these can give problems as well).

5. Do I need a decoder?
You can watch a lot of "free" analogue programmes with only a receiver. However, only a few of these are English. But do remember that you can receive dozens of "RADIO" programmes from analogue satellite (audio sound tracks without pictures) and you don't need a decoder for these! Some broadcast in stereo and some in mono. Currently, BBC Radio 1 and 3 are in stereo. BBC Radio 2, 4, 5-Live and World Service are in mono.

6. How do I decide what to buy?
Ask several satellite-owning neighbours to demonstrate their systems. Usually they will be pleased to do this. See if you can find somebody with a big motorised dish who will show you the vast choice you can receive from different satellites. Apart from looking at picture quality, performance and price, consider reliability, too. About ten percent of satellite receivers fail within two years.

7. What is Astra?
Astra is the name given to two groups of satellites, owned by a company called S.E.S., which are located above the Earth (around 19 degrees east of south and around 28 degrees east of south). As far as your dish is concerned, each group of satellites looks like one large satellite because they are so far away and so close together. Each Astra satellite has at least 16 transponders. At present there are six satellites in the 19E group, labelled 1A to 1F. Satellite 1A to 1D transmit mostly ordinary "analogue" signals and E, F transmit mostly digital on a higher frequency band.

8. What is Digital?
Astra 1E transmits mostly digitally compressed signals. This method is more efficient because it allows one transponder to transmit up to fourteen different programmes at the same time! However, you will need to buy a Digital Satellite Receiver in order to receive these new programmes. Such receivers are in use in the UK, parts of Europe, South Africa, Australia, Indonesia and the USA (and other places). They can be more than four times as expensive as current "analogue" receivers. However, analogue transmissions are likely to continue for at least two years and the average life of a satellite receiver is only about five years.

9. What is "Hot Bird"?
Hot Bird is the name of a satellite that is located at 13 degrees east of south. You can point your dish in that direction and receive signals from Hot Bird just the same as you can from Astra. There are some English programmes which are not scrambled but most programmes are foreign language (sometimes English with foreign subtitles). At the same location as "Hot Bird" is another, older satellite called "Eutelsat II-F1". You will see the programs from this as if they came from "Hot Bird" but the signals tend to be weaker in the UK. There are other "Eutelsat" satellites located at 7'E, 10'E and 16'E of south.

10. Can I receive both Astra and Hot Bird?
Yes. You need a slightly bigger dish with two LNBs fitted on a special adaptor bracket. The dish and LNBs have to be aligned very accurately to receive good pictures from both satellite groups.

Switching between two satellites

If you have a fixed dish with two LNBs fitted on something like a LittlExtra™ bracket, you will need an A-B switching box to select each LNB as required. This type of manual switch sits near to the receiver and is fed by two cables from the LNBs on the dish.

The disadvantage is that you have to get off your butt to operate it!

Another type of switch is available. This one goes under various names but the original one is the "Wych Switch" designed by me, Martin Pickering, and marketed by a company called Wychavon (now defunct). It was also sold under the name of "Twin-Sat" switch. (I made the prototype on "Veroboard". The circuit is available for a very small fee if you want it).

It is fully waterproof and clips to the dish arm. Two short cables run from the LNBs to the switch. Only one cable is required to connect the switch to your satellite receiver.

This unit responds when the voltage supply to the LNB goes off then on again fairly quickly (within a couple of seconds). On most receivers this effect is achieved by pressing the STANDBY button twice. On some receivers such as Pace, however, you will need an additional Slave unit which fits at the receiver end of the cable and has a SCART plug which must go to the TV SCART socket on the satellite receiver. (This means that you can't use the SCART socket to feed your video or television).

This type of switch allows you to switch from one satellite to the other from the comfort of your armchair. Of course, if you buy a twin input receiver in the first place you will not need such a switch!

If your receiver is more modern you can use its 22kHz tone system to control a different type of switch. This is called a "22kHz switch".

11. Can I install my own system?
Yes. You don't need any special equipment, although you can not guarantee perfect pictures without the use of a meter. There are lots of books on this subject. *Ref1.
The dish has to point towards the desired satellite(s). It can be mounted almost anywhere, provided that it has "line-of-sight". For Astra analogue you need a clear view at 19 degrees East of South (plus magnetic variation - about 6 degrees) at an angle of about 25 to 27 degrees upwards from the horizon (England). Make sure that there are no trees or buildings blocking this line.

A fine example of an extremely buckled dish. As you look from edge to edge you should see a straight line - but not with this one! Also, the cable is hanging down instead of being secured to the dish arm and clipped to the wall.

This dish is OK but the "installer" used brown TV cable (wrong!) and threw it over the roof. Now, every time the wind blows, the cable gets dragged and wears a hole in the outer sheath. Result - rainwater runs down the cable into both the LNB and the satellite receiver.

More information about installation

12. Can I receive even more programmes?
You can install a larger dish on a "polar mount". This is a special swivel mounting which allows the dish to move in such a way that it tracks the satellite arc above the equator. There are several variations on this theme: another is the "Horizon to Horizon" mount which gives a longer arc of travel. For most purposes, an ordinary polar mount with a linear actuator (motor) is the most cost-effective solution. You will also need a "positioner" (power supply and control unit) to drive the actuator which moves the dish.

13. What is SKY?
SKY is the name of a company which provides most of the English-language programmes broadcast from Astra. At the time of writing, only Sky News can be watched without the use of a decoder. The other SKY programmes require the use of a VIDEOCRYPT decoder. The "QVC" shopping channel is the only one of these which does not require the use of a smart card. To get a SKY smart card you have to obtain an application form (ask your nearest satellite shop for a form). Decide what you want to watch and how you want to pay. Fill in the subscriber agreement form and post it to the SKY address. You can speed things up by faxing a copy. As soon as your card arrives, phone SKY, give the card number, and ask to have it turned on. They will tell you to switch your receiver on, stick the card in the slot then wait till they broadcast your turn-on signal. Obviously this will only work if the receiver is getting a SKY channel. No need to leave the TV set on but the receiver and dish system MUST be working to receive the signal. It's all very exciting! The cheapest "multichannel" package costs £12.95 per month (at the time of writing) and gets you everything except the Movie channels and Sports channels. A similar situation applies to Sky Digital but please read the specific page about this.

14. Should I buy the cheapest?
This is the question which nobody likes to answer. The cheapest systems are fine if you don't need the best picture and sound quality. Even the lowest price systems can be expected to give better pictures than ordinary terrestrial TV. If not, there is something wrong so don't accept it. However the price tends to reflect the build quality and, therefore, the reliability. The installation cost also tends to reflect the quality of materials and workmanship.
How can an installer save money? Easy: by using a low-quality cable which does not carry the signal as well as good cable (but you won't see a problem till it rains) and which does not last as long outdoors (ultraviolet light from the sun cracks the plastic and water gets in). By skimping on the length of cable and on brackets and clips (eg. install it on the front of the house instead of round the back out of sight). By skimping on other items (connectors, LNB noise-figure, Dish quality). By joining lengths of short cable (never!)
For the best quality equipment and workmanship it pays to find out about specialist installers. There are some but they take a lot of finding. They won't do a low-cost job but they'll be happier to come back to sort out any problems because this cost will be built-in to the price. You get what you pay for. Ask yourself if your thousand pound widescreen Nicam Stereo TV really deserves a 99 pound satellite system! Check with your friends to see if they can recommend an installer. Look at the workmanship.

15. Will my old LNB work with a Pro-Logic receiver ?
Yes. The LNB simply converts the microwave frequencies to lower ones that ANY receiver will use. The LNB does not care what kind of receiver you connect. However, you may not receive ALL available channels if you use an older LNB with a new receiver (or vice-versa). Read the LNB FAQ page.

16. Is it possible to add a second LNB to my existing equipment ?
If you add a 2nd LNB you will need to put it on a 2nd dish! Much easier is to swap the existing LNB for a "twin output" type which will feed two receivers. This could lead to problems however because the new LNB will probably be an "Enhanced" or "Universal" type which will not directly match your existing receiver in terms of frequency range.
If, however, you are adding a second LNB to watch programmes from a second satellite then you may be able to fit it to the same dish by using a special bracket (but you will probably need a larger dish). Read the LNB FAQ page.
(See question 10).

17. Should I buy an analogue receiver and LNB or buy digital?
Digital Sat TV is certainly here but whatever you buy now will be obsolete in a few years (apart from, possibly, the LNB). However, that will always be true. In five years time the satellite systems on sale will still be obsolete a couple of years later. How long do you want to wait? Manufacturers are making "improvements" all the time in order to sell new equipment. Buy what you want now. There are many good deals around for both used analogue receivers and for new digital systems. Digital systems are inherently more expensive to manufacture and you might find your programme choice is limited if you like to watch foreign broadcasts and buy a dedicated Sky receiver.

Your STB is seeming too much typical,,,in short you will have to add two keys 00 and 01 to decode Polsat ID 7101,,you may delete all those keys ,not working according to latest keys update

neither of the cnn's working.
Actually, the horizontal was ok till a while ago and the vertical 12597 seems too weak.

BTW,i would really appreviate it if you could give a 2 line explanation about how you insert new keys.
There seems to be 2 rows of figures ,one with letters 2B 3D...etc and one just figures,275,987,098....etc.
If not mistaken, I guess the new codes go into the figures row?

Thanx in advance

neither of the cnn's working.
Actually, the horizontal was ok till a while ago and the vertical 12597 seems too weak. cnn polsat on 12322 is working just fine here, still using nagra1. cnn on 12597 is on viaacess, globecast.

If not mistaken, I guess the new codes go into the figures row? you can search online for decimal to hex converter and do it accordingly, then you can input your codes as needed.

since you have a discovery II receiver, you actually don't need to convert these keys to be relevant for your use. these 3-digit codes are for use on MR and other CAMS.

I am new to satellite TV and just bought an Illusion Sat M3 Conax. It uses applications called Multicam & Vectra . Please could you tell what these applications are and what is the purpose of having them installed in the system.
If you can give me any info on this I would be very grateful.
Also if you know where I could get a user manual in English.

First of all I would like to thank you for the promptness and efficiency you show to all of us.
Ok the model is Illusion M3 conax
It is seeing all the transponders now but cannot decode them so I would like to know how to update it to clear them and be able to see them.( astra1 & Hotbird is enough)for us.
Preferably a how to guide as really I do not know the right procedure, basically I loaded the clear all software from the factory and then the software and settings but the other applications I do not know what they are for.
Once again many thanks for your guides as they are of immense help for guys like me.

Masood Sahib
Thank you for the useful info.
Can you also please advise me which k*y file is best suitable for my Humax 5400z runing now hot33hot6. There are so many files on various forums and I am very much confused. Currently I am using Mach1' k*y.bin file of 22-11-2005. It is working for 00 7C 00 and 01 50 00 but not for other channels like Zee and Spice Platinum on Hotbird 13 E. I am using Hotbird, Nile, Pas10 and Asia S3.

Also, I have no idea about PMC Table and I have never updated it because every new version of HoT says no need to update PMC Table for "Normal Use". I have no clue if I should update my PMC Table and if yes how. I will be extemly grateful for you valuable advise and help.

Very nice masood Brother
Its great
Please make it Sticky as soon as possable
As you wish Aqeel Raza!,,it is sticky now :) Don't forget to contribute your help in this thread :)

LNB stands for low noise block
the lower the number the better the lnb i,e a 0.3db is better than a 0.9db
the more noise you can block the better the signal strength on your set top box.
Noise is measured in db (decibal)

These keys are only an example key
An example AES key = 0b 80 a0 0a 10 67 88 2e 6f 2c 93 df 2c 88 9c 7e
for our receivers we need to cut this into 2 parts
e.g. 0b 80 a0 0a 10 67 88 2e // 6f 2c 93 df 2c 88 9c 7e
Its an AES key and is usually entered into your Viaccess keys
(not on some receivers though)!
007C00 is the I.D. for TPS ....

Now all you need to know is which keys you need to enter them as.
(and only if your receiver has been patched for AES entry)

Hi Masood,
Thanks for the detailed information. It is very helpfull for a beginner like me.

Could you please inform me on any possiblity of using a FTA receiver (Ouralis 2) for unscramble TV Channels. Can such equipment be programmed via RS232?
What is the use of the Digital Interface in the Skybox Pace DS430N ?
Thanks and Regards,

ManHattan Plaza ST
007c00*01* 0b 80 a0 0a 10 67 88 2e

007c00*11* 6f 2c 93 df 2c 88 9c 7e

TechNoMate 7000 series use *21* & *22*

Lemon 20S use *01* & *10*

HuMax 5400 use *03* & *13*

HiVision use *00* & *10*

BigSat/ Extreme/ Kaon *00* & *01*

MetaBox receivers use *AES0* & *AES1*

betacrypt is not cryptoworks ,you may decode this encryption in only that case if you have loaded s/w ,supporting cryptoworks.
By the way you want to watch DigiTurk?or CartoonNetwork on Hotbird?

Most of STBs (set top boxes) have the cyptoworks support in EMU menu but those don't decode the crypto encryption :(
To enable crypto support ,you will have to upgrade with the latest s/w of your STB
You may contact to the dealer of your box

Dear Masood bhai

Salam

I have Relook 400s STB running Rudbox image (see subject) with mgcamd and evocamd. To view channels, I have to keep my STB connected to the Internet.

Could you please guide me as to which image should I use with my Relook 400s to allow me to upload static keys to the STB without the need to connect the box to Internet. I know of some programming on Hi-tech Z1 STB which is being programmed by some sat shops here which allow one to view Showtime, Orbit, Nova, Multichoice (South Africa), Pehla etc etc. And I know that Hi-tech STB does not have Internet connectivity.

If you are aware, could you also please tell me if the same programming (as in Hi-tech Z1 STB) be done for Relook 400s?

Thanks in advance

- WHAT'S IN A PIC PIRATE CARD?
Most pirate cards are PIC cards. They are not cloned from original cards - they just work (almost) the same way. These generic programmable microcontroller cards can be bought legally at 3-10 USD, depending on the type. Those of main interest today are single-PIC16F84 (program this with the latest (version 4) Nordic HEX file) and MM2 (PIC16F84 + 24LC16) - program this with the latest Multimac3 HEX files (when this was written, MM3.03 was the latest). HEX files are distributed as very small data files which can be downloaded on many Internet web sites. To program a HEX file into a PIC card, you need your PC and a PIC smartcard programmer. Best prices & best service here. The HEX files
contain the computer program that makes the smartcard emulate a real access card, such as issued by the TV companies. It also contains the latest keys (commonly called "codes").

2 - WHY DO I NEED TWO CARDS?
The HEX files are continously being improved. A few years ago, some HEX files didn't work well on certain types of decoders, typically Macab or Luxor Mac 3. (Also, Amstrad and Philips STU had hardware problems with all MM2 cards of Lithium type where C4/C8 were not taped after programming). Nowadays, compatibility problems have been solved and all HEX files seem to work with all decoders. However, a small problem occurs due to the two variants of Eurocrypt - M and S. Some channels use the M version and Canal+, Canal+ Gul, Femman and Animal Planet uses S (or S2). HEX files which handle both variants are called "autoswitching". Autoswitching doesn't always work - you might need two cards, one programmed to decode the Eurocrypt-M channels and another for the Eurocrypt-S channels. Most decoders have two card slots but if you have a simple single-card Eurocrypt unit, you might have to swap cards. This is
inconvenient but acceptable...

3 - WHY DO I NEED TO UPDATE THE CARD?
Encryption is a mathematical function. The encrypted data (in this case, the TV show) needs a secret codeword (in this case, the 56-bit "key") to be decoded. This secret key is known by original TV access smartcards. To make hacking more difficult, TV channels can "download" new keys into the original cards and then start using them. This download data is bundled with the TV channel data, similar to how text-tv (videotext) information is transmitted. To make sure all original cards have received a new key before they start using it for encryption of the TV channel, the download has to be active for a month or so. A fun thing that sometimes happens, is that if a viewer with an original card has had his satellite receiver turned off for the entire download period, he too will be unable to view the channel, even though he has an original card! When the key is broadcast, it is encrypted with another key (a so called "management key"), because it's easy for any hobby hacker to view what's broadcast from the uplink - all that is needed is a Season interface / Data Logger. Cool hackers have these management keys (or "man keys"). Those hackers who have these man keys, they can immediately see the key which is being uploaded, and the same second the TV channel starts using an encryption key which has been uploaded, thus creating the channel to fall out from the PIC pirate card, the hacker can create the "multimac" style update code which the home user needs to enter in order to view the channel decrypted again. There are several management keys and the TV companies (Canal Digital and Viasat) don't know which management keys are known. As soon as they learn about that, they can stop using this key (this is called to "kill a management key"), and
instead use one which is not known. This means they have to send out new cards to 1/256 (?) of their customers, but it could be well worth it in order to make use of pirate cards more difficult. Therefore, hackers are careful not to reveal which management keys that are known.

4 - THE REASON AGAINST AUTOUPDATING CARDS
Those cool hackers who are lucky to have man keys, why do they publish keys instead of putting the man key in the HEX file so that the card could update itself? The reason for this is that HEX files for PIC cards can be reversed-engineered. If Viasat or Canal Digital finds an auto-updating HEX file on Internet, they just disassemble it and see which of the management keys that were used. Then they kill that key. Then, all autoupdating cards using that man-key, would stop working! For now, the cool hackers have decided that the best solution is to keep the man keys and to provide just the update codes instantly. There are however a HEX file out which is autoupdating on some channels (TV1000 etc). But since this man key is thereby known, it could be killed at any time, so time will tell whether this HEX file is better just because it's autoupdating. So instead of auto-updating cards, hackers are looking at other solutions to
make PIC cards even more convenient to use.

5.WHY AREN'T ALL PIRATE CARDS AUTO-UPDATING?

The intention with encrypted channels is so that noone except for the paying customer can view the encrypted channel. The paying customer is given a cheap-to-manufacture smartcard by the TV channel. However, the functionality of a genuine smartcard can be emulated with a "pirate" smartcard (though it isn't really "pirated" because it's not a cloned
genuine card but simply a card that works in the same way as a genuine card).Encoded TV channels broadcast a digital explaination to the decoder how to display the scrambled TV images. This explaination is encrypted - only the original smartcards supposedly know the ENCRYPTION KEY and can decrypt this message. The encryption changes every 10 seconds or so (that's why the picture remains unscrambled for a few seconds even if you remove the card). Every 10 seconds, the decoder sends 7 bytes at 9600bps to the smartcard which decodes them and sends them back to the decoder. The encryption key remains the same for several months,
but for anti-pirate-card reasons, they change it sometimes (a so called "Electronic Counter Measure" - ECM). The official Eurocrypt cards contain 8 keys for each channel. When the TV company wants to make it difficult for pirate card users, they send a message via the satellite which is received by all original cards. This message tells the smartcard to
change one of the eight keys to something else. Because not all subscribers have their cards inserted and decoders turned on at the same time, this message is repeated for about a month. Then when the update message has been broadcasted long enough to be certain that 99.9% of all subscribers have received it, they send another message to tell
the original cards to change into the new key. All of these messages are encrypted with the MANAGEMENT ENCRYPTION KEY, because if it was sent in the clear, then everyone would know what the new key was.

- Why don't pirate cards understand the code-change message?

Since ordinary pirate cards haven't understood the code update message, pirate cards must be updated manually by the user. The update codes are generated by someone who has knowledge of a MANAGEMENT ENCRYPTION KEY. With the update code, the user can either reprogram the PIC pirate card in his PIC programmer, or he can enter a 28-
digit update code using his remote control. However, some pirate cards understand the code-change-messages and update themselves just like genuine cards. Those are called auto-updating pirate cards. The difference between auto-updating cards and regular cards, is that auto-updating cards contain a MANAGEMENT ENCRYPTION KEY. The TV
companies really would like to know which management keys are known by hackers, because then they could stop using them. Therefore, hackers don't want to put the management key inside a low-security smartcard where it can be easily read out. PIC smartcards have a low security and if a hacker made a self-updating card based on PIC, the TV channels could buy such a card and find out which management key is inside. Then they could replace the cards that this management key is used with, and never use it again.

-Why can't the TV channel just change all the management keys all the time?

Well - there are a few different management keys used on different genuine cards. If they stop using a management key used on 4000 cards, they have to replace those cards with other cards because the management keys can not be changed by sending a message via the satellite. So you see they would have to replace all the cards to be certain that all management keys are unknown by hackers!

- How do hackers find out what the management key is?

Because the encryption method used (DES 56-bit) has only
72057594037930000 combinations, it is possible to count through all the combinations and see which one works - a so called "brute force" attack. On a single PC this would take a hundred years but if 1000 people with PC's join the search, splitting up the code space between them, it's possible to start finding keys within months. There are different projects like this, for example The Keyblitz Project that hunts for keys for the Eurocrypt channels - currently Canal+. Also, some people have access to supercomputers on universities and large companies. And there are special DES-cracking machines (costing 250000 USD) that can crack the code in a week.

- Why are update codes available so quickly?

Because the hacker with the management key can decrypt the update message, and therefore see the new key in clear text. This means that the hacker knows the new code BEFORE it's taken into use! But he would be stupid if he told people the new key before it's taken into use. Why? Because it would be possible for the TV channel to send out a DUMMY update message, encrypted with that management key, which they wouldn't use. Then when they see on Internet that someone has decoded it, they know that it's this management key that is known, and then they kill it.Most pirate cards use the function "change secret code" in the Eurocrypt decoder, to update the code. This allows the user to enter seven 4-digit codes here, to update the pirate card when the encryption key has changed. NORDIC and MULTIMAC2 support remote updating, which can save the user the trouble of having to reprogram the card using a PIC programmer

Really good stuff.

Can you please throw some more light on following?

What is the difference between session key, user key and management key?
Which key is contain in smartcard?
Which smartcard programmer is best; Inifinty or else?

i will tell what is card sharing in a simple way ,
card sharing is a way to open scrambled channels
buy getting the keys from original card and sharing it with the others through INTERNET or LAN

so to use card sharing
there have to be an original legal card for any package
so the owner will share the info of the package he own

anyone who own subscribed card can
make his own sharing server
he need a PC and a card read

for the others who want to use card sharing
they should have on of these receivers :
humax 5400 , 5400Z.dreambox or
any DVB card (satellite card for the PC)
when u have one of these server
u can use sharing buy connecting Ur receiver to a PC with INTERNET connection ( for dreambox u don't need PC just connect to a modem )

there r alot of the sharing programs
the best is :
sharemax
Gbox
HISC

there r alot of sharing type
newcamd
gbox
radgest
satbazaar

anyway if u have the sharing server info u can use it
u can find servers on the site
some site and guys offer
alot of scrambled channels for small amount
example :
nilesat :showtime , art , pehla
arabsat : orbit
hotbird : nova , mct , canal+ ...etc

all for 40 or 30 US dollar (three months)

u can also find free servers but they don't last too much
and they hang alot due to many pinging the server

hi, thanks 4 the info.I want 2know somthing.I live in Saudi.I have digitall world SFT 5010.I get Hotbird, Asiasat, Nilesat, Arabsat n few other satellites signals.
recentlly when i upgraded my recievers software i noticed satellites like Kopernikus(23.5E),Koreasat 3(116.0E),Limsat 1(75.0E),NSS 703,NSS 803/K,PAS 3/6,PAS 10,etc.. added in my list of sat's which were not avalable previouslly......among those i found only kopernika sat recieve som signal (at SW 3and 10000)and i tuned it 2 get few channels(though all where scrambled).

so my question is that wat can i do 2 get the signals for PAS 10 also?
I wanna know what SW, LNB-F,LNB.P should I enter to do that.

is it possible at all????
remember i had made no changes in the Dish direction or have not added any new LNB.

i hope u got my question.
thanks

masood

you may get B4Umovies on PAS7/10
http://www.lyngsat.com/pas10.html
you will have to turn your dish towards Thaicom2/3 ,,,on this spot you may access Asiasat3S and PAS7/10 by fixing two extra F CBand LNBs holding with two strips

Hi bro. , I've already downloaded this new CS software but still I don't understand it clearly. We should ask that which receivers can work with this software.By the way , we don't need ADSL connection or not?He mention for Neosat receivers but when I open this file "SBCL v1.0h" it's show Ferguson and Pioneer receivers.Have u ask on Sir Boknoy and Sir Masood? They can give us the answer.Sorr, I can't help u directly and I'm also newbie in this CS.

nopes, the smartcard on your slot won't help at all. if, for anything, a legal smartcard will give you the channels with the codes automatically generated for you.

but if you are asking if you can get the keys off a legal smartcard, it depends on which encryption, but most tier-2 encryptions has a read protection enabled so that once an attempt is made to even open the database, the card is rendered useless so be very careful.

btw, you are asking au for which satellite channel?

Yes both Starsat and Dynasat softwares miss one hex (pair) when they can't Au for dream.Soemtimes they revert back to old Ecms and u can change ur software version to old one.
For card reader, most CA can read Nagravision.

This is not the easy task to do brother christianity. We need to know the stream of EMM data.If u want the keys quickly just use Fun card or Pc-Dvb card and they r more stable than a receiver.

It's a smart card which can read/write with Card Programmer. There r many Fun cards in stock Fun 4,Fun 5, Fun 6 , etc....I mean is Fun 4 which can use for Nagravision channels especially for Dream tv.They always came fast in software for dr**m tv when ECM appear in everytime and still working fine since Nov 19.
As for me it's not working with my Dynasat receiver which has card reader and I bought another receiver to read this card.May be ur receiver can't use this card bcoz. it's same with dynasat and these receivers have already a patch for nagravision. That's why we can't use in this receivers.

Thanks.

It seems like all the explanations regarding hacked satellite channels are either incredibly basic, or else secret knowledge of the masters not to be found online :D

Here is where I am at: I have a Starsat 550dultra.

I figured out how to use the simple uploader that worked each week to flash the memory with new keys to receive TPS channels on hotbird. Alas, that is no more.

Now I use keyeditor to flash the tps.bin keys on a daily basis (or when the spirit moves me). I download the tps.bin file from Libyan team.

Question: I read in this thread that (according to Masoods post listing all hacked channels) Discovery and some other Polsat channels had been hacked.

How can I receive these channels with my 550D and some basic software? Where do i get the keys? How often do they change?

TPS channels are OK, but I would REALLY love to get Discovery channel or something similar. In English. Is this possible?

Thanks.

yeah that's right! alternate sequence of viewing pleasure. ;-) about your dynasat have noticed the location of the wrong pair of hex where was it located? both in key 00 and key 01. bcoz i noticed that my starsat 2100cu has a constant palcement of wrong pair of hex. example in my starsat the wrong pair of hex key00 is the 6th pair and for key01 is the 5th pair. this is constant throughout the sequence. how bout your dynasat?

Same result with u.Mostly dynasat misses au in key 01.Back to 1st Feb, they lost 2hex keys and I try my luck with fill the miss pair and got the right key in 1minute bcoz. it read Hex "CC" instead of "00".
U can always try ur luck when they miss a pair of hex.lol:

i have different approach on changing up the wrong hex key. i tried it once and it work i have a formula on solving the correct and replacing the wrong one. but i'm not yet convinced since i tried it only once bcoz as of this moment my stb can decode the correct key. i guess the DR**M is back on their old ECM. everything is back on normal my 560D are working fine and so as my 2100cu -although it encounters FREEZING when getting the right code. that's the only problem right now.

AU should be auto update and will depend on the receiver software if
loaded for particular encryption, and particular satellite transponder,
your question is not clear - expand on it.

well
I know that on Hotbird there are AU-s for TPS and Cyfrowy+Polsat.....for TPS AU Frequency is 10873 and when I switch to any channel from this transponder, it makes AutoUpdate........
My receiver software says - Polsat AU OK, so i want to make update automatically and not enter the keys every day :) ......for that i want the AU frequency for polsat....

HELLO EVERYONE!
This is in fact my first post here because of some recent problems I've had recently, first of all excuse me for being extremely lazy but i have a reason, because of the final exams i had to give up my dear ADSL and now I'm connected with a snail-paced Dial-up!
Enough of introducing! Here's the problem: I'm a complete newbie in Satellite stuff!
I have a Star Sat SR-X50CU USB and I've been wondering if i could update the key list with a USB Flash. Because in different places i've seen people mentioning that it's possible because i don't have that cable to connect the receiver to my lap-top and so i wanted to know if i could update the keys without that and if yes How and Where!
Thanks

APOGEE
The point in an elliptical satellite orbit which is farthest from the surface of the earth. Geosynchronous

satellites which maintain circular orbits around the earth are first launched into highly elliptical orbits

with apogees of 22,237 miles. When the communication satellite reaches the appropriate apogee, a rocket motor

is fired to place the satellite into its permanent circular orbit of 22,237 miles.

ARC
Satellite belt. A imaginary line that has the shape of half of a circuit and connects all satellites in the

Clark’s belt.

27, 36 or 72 MHz.

BASEBAND
This is the satellite TV signal from the receiver, which has yet not been transformed into a useful TV signal.

BAUD
The rate of data transmission based on the number of signal elements or symbols transmitted per second. Today

most digital signals are characterized in bits per second.

BEACON
Low-power carrier transmitted by a satellite which supplies the controlling engineers on the ground with a

means of monitoring telemetry data, tracking the satellite, or conducting propagation experiments. This

tracking beacon is usually a horn or omni antenna.

BEAM
Signal transmission via satellite. The satellites signal beam emitted from the satellite to the earth. There

are wide beams- covers a big area, narrow beam- covers a smaller area, pot beam- covers only a specific area.

BEAMWITH
The expected ankle of the satellite antenna.

BELLING-LEE CONNECTION
A connection that is used to connect TV antennas to the TV, receiver and video. In prior times it was used on

the satellite receiver line in.

BER Bit Error Rate
The precision of a digital signal. Similar to the analogue S/N ratio.

BIRD
Bird is a word that is often used referring to satellites.

BIT RATE
The speed of digital transmission. Usually it is expressed in Mb/s. the higher the bit rate the better is the

picture and sound since there are more data sent. I.e: 5Mb/s is approximately PAL quality and 2.5Mb/s is VHS

quality.

BLANKING
An ordinary television signal consists of 30 separate still pictures or frames sent every second. They occur so

rapidly, the human eye blurs them together to form an illusion of moving pictures. This is the basis for

television and motion picture systems. The blanking interval is that portion of the television signal which

occurs after one picture frame is sent and before the next one is transmitted. During this period of time

special data signals can be sent which will not be picked up on an ordinary television receiver.

BLOCK DOWN CONVERTER
A device used to convert the 3.7 to 4.2 KHz signal down to UHF or lower frequencies (1 GHz and lower).

B-MAC
A method of transmitting and scrambling television signals. In such transmissions MAC (Multiplexed Analog

Component) signals are time-multiplexed with a digital burst containing digitized sound, video synchronizing,

authorization, and information.

BORESIGHT
The side of the antenna that is turned towards the antenna.

BUISINESS TELEVISION
Corporate communications tool involving video transmissions of information via satellite. Common uses of

business television are for meetings, product introductions and training.

C

CAM
Conditional access module- systems that are used to decode encoded satellite programs.

CARRIER
The basic radio, television, or telephony center of frequency transmit signal. The carrier in an analog signal.

is modulated by manipulating its amplitude (making it louder or softer) or its frequency (shifting it up or

down) in relation to the incoming signal. Satellite carriers operating in the analog mode are usually frequency

modulated.

CARRIER FREQUENCY
The main frequency on which a voice, data, or video signal is sent. Microwave and satellite communications

transmitters operate in the band from 1 to 14 GHz (a GHz is one billion cycles per second).

CASSEGRAIN
A sort of parabolic satellite antenna that uses a convex hyperbolic secondary reflector.

C-band
Area of frequencies from 3.700-4.200 GHz that is used for satellite signal transmission, mostly in use in the

USA.

CENTRE-FEED DISH
A satellite antenna with the focus in the centre.

CHROMINANCE

CI
Common Interface- the standard connection to connect additional equipment on the receiver. Mostly used by CAM’

s. Basically it is the same system as the PCMCIA system used by computers and notebooks.

CIRCULAR POLARIZATION
Unlike many domestic satellites which utilize vertical or horizontal polarization, the international Intelsat

satellites transmit their signals in a rotating corkscrew-like pattern as they are down-linked to earth. On

some satellites, both right-hand rotating and left-hand rotating signals can be transmitted simultaneously on

the same frequency; thereby doubling the capacity of the satellite to carry communications channels.

CLARKE BELT
Look geostationary orbit.

C/N (carrier to noise ratio)
